SuryadattaInstitute of Management and Mass Communication organised one day National Seminar onBig Data and Business Analytics on 28thFeb 2020at Radhakrishna Hall.The main objective of National Seminar was to provide insights on applications of Big data and business analytics in various domains.
The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Shailesh Kasande (CEO & Group Director, SGI), Mr. Sunil Dhadiwal (Dean-Corporate Relations, SGI) and Ms. Shreya Pal (Associate Director, Cognizant). Dr. Shailesh kasandewelcomed the audience by highlighting the importance of Business analytics in today’s scenario.Various eminent speakers from industry conducted the sessions.
The first session by Ms. Shreya Pal (Associate Director, Cognizant) on Applications of big data in life sciences, focused on what exactly Big data means, difference between RDBMS and Big data system. She covered the use cases in Life sciences which helped to understand terms like bigdata, Cloud, IOT and ML with humorous example. Finally, she highlighted the technical and implementation challenges faced by data analysts.
The next session was conducted by Mr. Pravin Bhosale (Founder,Samyak Analytics) on Monetising Advanced Analytics in Financial services domain. He emphasized that near future will be customer centric for ongoing enhancement with proper controlled management of risk and reduction in rise of fraudulents through Analytics and machine learning.
Post Lunch session wasdelivered by Mr. Charles Valentine (Solution Specialist, IntelimentTechnologies ) on key areas and recent trends in Business Analytics. He elaborated the various terms related to business analytics.
The last session was conducted by Mr. Sameer Jain (Senior Assistant Professor, NICMAR). He highlighted on Business analytics for the construction, real estate, infrastructure and project management (CRIP) Industry.
The seminar ended with valedictory function with esteemed presence of Hon. Dean, Professor. Dr. Parag Kalkar (Faculty of Commerce and Management, SPPU). He emphasized various business analytics applications in day to day life and focused on how Analytics will change the future.

Students of Suryadatta Group of Institutions hold 422nd Birth Anniversary Celebration of Rajmata Jijabai at Bavdhan Campus.
Suryadatta group of Institute celebrated the Birth anniversary of Jijamata in the honor of the great lady for her contribution to the life of her son, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She was the source of inspiration and motivation not only for her son but for the whole Maratha Empire and our country.The foundation of an independent Hindu nation was created by her and transferred by her teachings to her son Shivaji Maharaj who made the dream come true.
Program started with a procession holding the photograph of Jijamata with Dhol tasha,orange flags swaying to the beats of Dhol Tash,depicting victory. Students and faculty members of all the departments of Suryadatta Group of Institute repeating the slogans in praise of Maratha Warriors ‘Jai Bhawani Jai Shivaji’. The students were dressed in traditional attire. The procession reached Bansiratna Auditorium and Heads of all the departments lighted the lamp in front of Jijamata's photo. A student of Animation department sang a Gondhal in honour of Goddess Bhawani followed by speeches in Marathi and Hindi by faculty members , explaining the audience about the teachings of Jijamata who nurtured her son to become The Great Shivaji Maharaj from young Shiva. Girls of the college also presented the fashion show in Nawari sarees. The auditorium echoed with the slogans of Jai Jijau and har har Mahadev.
The importance of Team Work and Team Building for a management student is self evident. The staff and management at Suryadatta fully appreciate this and to this end, from time to time various workshops, seminars and guest lectures are held on this topic. To reinforce the message, students of PGDM are taken for Adventure-cum-team building trips where various games, activities and exercises were used to develop certain characteristics within the individuals that are important if the team is to become effective.
Keeping this in mind, a trip for PGDM students of 2019-21 batch was organized to 29018 Adventure Camp. The students started at around 9 am and reached there in an hour. A journey of 35 kms through a scenic route took the group to Avanti Kalagram where a hot breakfast awaited them.
In the first activity the students were divided into 3 groups and asked to name the group with a group slogan. It was treasure hunt with lots of physical exercise. This activity taught them time management and also managing energy levels.
The second activity was less physical and more intellectual and taught them how to plan strategies, manage time and work in groups. The aim of outbound leadership programme was to learn all the management skills. This programme also tightened the course bond and the students were given some leisure time at the end of the day. Some of them swam, while some explored the place.
The evening debrief brought the day to an end. During the debrief, the important management lessons learnt were reiterated.
FY MBA & PGDM students organised an exhibition Mega EXPO on 19th Oct 2019 where they had put up stalls of the chosen companies as an academic project.
Their stalls had information through posters, charts, display items like demo products, samples, leaflets, catalogues, standees, flex etc. The student groups will exhibit the companies through

Eco -Elite forum conducted its first program of the year 2019-20 on 28th September 2019. It was a role play titled "Celebrate Micro Economics" organized by PGDM students.The Eco Elite Economic Forum is a student ' organisation meant to serve as a link for students, faculty, and the community through a shared interest in economics. Forum undertakes various modes of programs through which knowledge sharing takes place.
All the PGDM students presented a skit, "Celebrate Microeconomics" which highlighted key micro economic concepts which were a finely interwoven with day today real life situations.
The program was designed by the PGDM students under the guidance of Dr. Medha Deshmukh.
